Water Pipe Replacement Portland

Water line repair in Portland, OR

Ask a Portland Plumber About Trenchless Pipe Repair

If you have broken or cracked pipes that need to be replaced, there is a new process available that can greatly reduce the amount of excavation needed to get the job done. Known as trenchless pipe repair, this process saves a great deal of time, aggravation, property destruction, and money.

One trenchless process is known as cured-in-place piping or CIPP. This involves scouring the existing pipe with a high-pressure stream of water and then inserting an epoxy resin liner. Once the old pipe is coated, a bladder is inserted and then inflated to hold the resin in place until it hardens. Once that happens, the bladder is taken out and the pipe is ready to use. The resin is completely safe for drinking water and will provide reliable service for years.

Another method is known by many as “pipe within a pipe.” A small hole is dug at each end of the line and a path-clearing head attached to the new pipe is pulled through the old plumbing. This new pipe is compliant with all local codes, resists acids and chemicals, and is virtually leakproof.
